If you would like to advertise epicswap to your mates you can download an A4 poster (great for the work noticeboard) and some business cards (please put them in items you sell on ebay etc. Just cut along dotted line...). Both files are pdfs and open in a separate window. Links to the files can be found permanently on the 'Recommend epicswap' page.

Please help me spread the word!

DVDs that are offered in swaps now have the time and date the offer expires on their details page.

You can now browse or search for DVDs without logging in. This has two obvious advantages: you don't have to type in your password just to see if there is something you'd like to swap with, and non-members can have a look at the site before they register. Of course, you still have to log in to offer swaps, add DVDs, etc.

Coming soon: a 'wish list' system where members can record titles of DVDs they would like to see.

Some of you may have noticed swap offers being duplicated on the 'Offered swaps' page. This problem has been found and fixed, fingers crossed...
It has been a while since I have made any changes to the site as I have been busy with work, but hopefully I will get chance to add some new features in the coming weeks.
Earlier this week there were 250 DVDs available for swapping! I think this is the highest since the site started. Also there are now 124 registered members; my short term target is to get 1000 members, so do tell everyone you know about the site!

When you reject an offer an email is now sent to the other member. You can also give reasons why you rejected the offer (these are included in the rejection email).

Also there is a link on the top right-hand corner of your screen: 'Click here to recommend epicswap to a friend'. This link has been there a while, but I thought that I'd take this opportunity to point it out.

Two new features today. The first is 'Top 10 swappers' and can be found at the bottom of the menu on the left. The second is 'Last 10 DVDs added' and can be found by clicking on 'Browse for a DVD', also in the left-hand menu.

You can now offer a choice of up to 5 DVDs when you offer a swap. Apart from this the process of offering a swap is the same as before. I have tested this new feature to destruction, but please let me know if anything odd happens.

DVDs that have been added less than 7 days ago are now highlighted with NEW! next to the title. This new feature only applies to DVDs added from now on.

There is a new link at the bottom of the menu on the left: 'Latest swaps'. This gives the titles of the DVDs involved in the last 10 swaps.

When you search or browse for DVDs you can now see DVDs that have been offered in swaps. Such DVDs are indicated by Swap offered! next to the title. You cannot currently offer another swap for these DVDs.

The 'Search for DVDs' function searches on the 'Notes' field (aswell as the title) of a DVD. So the more information you put in the 'Notes' about your DVDs the better, i.e. it will come up in more searches. Putting the names of the actors is a good idea; this will help a member searching for, say, 'Nicole Kidman'.

You can now ask other members questions! Click on a DVD title or member's alias and you'll see the link 'Ask this member a question'. If you're asking a question about a particular DVD, remember to quote its title.

You can now browse for DVDs alphabetically, i.e. by the first letter of the title. Click on 'Browse for a DVD' in the menu on the left to see this in operation.

Can I also urge anyone who has swapped a DVD to rate their swapping experience. You can do this be clicking on 'Your swap history', and then on 'Rate this swap'. You can rate the swap out of five and also leave a comment.

I have added an Amazon.co.uk search box to the DVD details pages. It is filled automatically with the title of the DVD you're looking at; you just have to click the 'Go' button to get more info on the DVD.
Update: I have also added a link to IMDb.com that searches for older titles that don't come up on amazon, just click the IMDb logo.

If you have a SPAM filter on your email service, offers of swaps etc. may be filtered out. If this happens, locate the email in the 'bulk' or 'junk' folder of your email service. By selecting 'not spam' or similar, our emails will come through normally in future.
